Mobile League of Legends port leaked

After reports of Riot Games releasing a mobile version of League of Legends, a new leak has surfaced. The leaked image and video was posted to Facebook by a user named Ry Enriquez. The video was most likely downloaded from another site, as it has a watermark of another Chinese platform. It shows some brief gameplay for a mobile version of League of Legends tutorial mode and a hero selection screen.

Tencent’s version

Tencent acquired a majority stake in Riot Games in February of 2011. It then fully acquired the company in December of 2015. Recently, according to a report by Reuters in May, the two companies have been working on a mobile version of League of Legends. Gamers may be iffy about mobile games in the West, but these titles are a lot bigger in the East. Tencent’s wildly popular mobile MOBA Honor of Kings was created after Riot declined from making a mobile port of LoL at first.

The video, which was originally titled in Chinese, is translated into “League of Legends Mobile Game Test Version” in English. It shows the champion selection screen and the transition animation after a player accepts a match. The same ability trees have been ported over, so gameplay is similar, other than the controls. The controls feature the usual mobile trackpad and other features.

League of Legends’ mobile port

A list of the champions available to be chosen is also available. This includes Garen, Vayne, Fizz, Jinx, Xin Zhao, Janna, Oriana, Lux, Annie, Gragas, Ahri, and Nami. Other champions also include Twisted Fate, Olaf, Shyvana, Tryndamere, Vi, Malphire, Nasus, Miss Fortune, Ezreal, Master Yi, Jax, Fiora, Blitzcrank, Soraka, and Dr. Mundo.

No official statement has been released by Riot Games about the mobile port yet. The game also looks unfinished, as the Nexus tower isn’t protected like it normally is in the PC version. Whether this will be exclusive to the East or another trial run like Arena of Valor is up for speculation.
