Epic Games has removed the Boom Bow from the Team Rumble limited time mode for being “too powerful”.
Thanks to its super-accurate reticle, massive range and damage, a lot of people would say that the Boom Bow is too powerful in every game type, but apparently the tipping point was that players respawning with 100 health could just be picked off repeatedly.
Since it’s not very fun to get repeatedly ganked and spawn-killed as you glide back in, Epic has released a hotfix – which means you won’t have to reinstall any patches – to remove the item from the LTM.
Epic announced the move on Twitter:
We’ve released a hotfix to remove the Boom Bow from the Team Rumble LTM. The Boom Bow was too powerful in this mode due to players respwaning with 100HP.

Where it was promptly met with instant and merciless sass from pro players and YouTubers:

In other Fortnite news, Epic yesterday announced a new collection of skate decks inspired by the Downtown Drop LTM designs.
We’re also just days away from the annual celebrity Pro-Am tournament, which this year features the likes of Super Bowl winner Marshawn Lynch, Panic! At the Disco’s Brendon Urie, and Jay from Jay and Silent Bob for some reason.
